Leeds Carnegie Sign Up Scottish Centre

By Nick Betts
Leeds Carnegie have today announced that they have signed Scotland A centre Scott Barrow, 27, from Glasgow Warriors on a two year contract.
Barrow previously played Rugby League with St Helens and joined Glasgow in 2004. Barrow was this week named in the Scotland A squad for the Churchill Cup in North America this summer.
He has previously played Rugby Union with Worcester and Orrell and as well as centre, he has played at fly half, wing and full back. He was part of the Worcester squad who finished runners up behind Leeds in National Division One back in 2000-01.

Commenting on his move Barrow said, "I played a few seasons in National One before I moved to Scotland so I know what it takes in that division. I am looking forward to playing week to week, it can be a bit stop start with the Magners League but I am looking forward to the challenge of moving down to England again.

"I know Leigh Hinton and Richard Welding from my Orrell days and I spoke to them before signing for Leeds Carnegie. They spoke very highly of the facilities and the set up at the club so that was a big motivator for me to join the club.

"Hopefully I can add my experience to the backline. I saw Leeds Carnegie a few times last year and the pack looked good so hopefully I can add leadership to the backline.

"The announcement that Stuart Lancaster is leaving to join the RFU has not affected my decision, I am still really excited to be joining the club. I am involved with the Scotland A squad this summer and then I will move back down to England. I am looking forward to being closer to home in St Helens and I feel the timing is right for me to come back to England after four good years in Scotland," added Barrow.
