| London Wasps can confirm that scrum half Mark McMillan will leave Wasps for Glasgow Warriors at the end of this season. |
McMillan, who joined Wasps at the start of 2006/07, went on to make his Scotland A debut the following summer and cemented his place as Wasps No2 scrum half this season with 14 appearances, taking his club total to 24.
On the Scotsman’s departure, Director of Rugby Ian McGeechan said, “Mark has had a good two years at Wasps, he has been very good for the club and we’ve been delighted with his progress.
“Mark is leaving with our blessing, as we know the next step for him is to develop his experience as a number one scrum half. We wish him all the best in the future and look forward to following his progress with Glasgow.”
McMillan said of his decision to leave, “I’ve learned so much in my two years at Wasps. It is a club like no other, with a very special working environment and I’ve benefited hugely from my time here.
“That said, I am looking forward to joining an ambitious club in Glasgow, who are a club on the way up and have a great squad of young players with bright futures. I’m looking forward to helping Glasgow achieve recognition in both the Magners League and Heineken Cup in the coming seasons.
“I’ve had some great times at Wasps, and I’d like to thank everyone at the club for making it so special - the coaches, players and staff, both on and off the field, and the supporters for making me feel so welcome during my time in London.” |
