London Wasps appoint new team manager
16 June 2008, 4:58 pm
By Sean Bridger
Today London Wasps formally welcomed newly appointed 1XV Team Manager, Kevin Harman to the club.
Harman, previously full time Director of Rugby at National Division 2 side, Southend RFC, takes over from previous 1XV Team Manager, Nolan Miller, who is leaving the club after six years service, first as Media Manager and subsequently as 1XV Team Manager.

The newly appointed Harman begins work at Wasps today (Monday), as preparations for the 2008/09 season begin to get underway.

Said Harman: "I'm extremely pleased to be joining London Wasps, and looking forward to working with one of the best clubs in Europe."

"Wasps have proud success record and a strong winning culture. My challenge is to help ensure that winning culture continues to thrive, putting everything in place so that the coaches and players can focus purely on the rugby in front of them. It's going to be a big challenge but also an exciting one, and I am really looking forward to it."

Harman comes to Wasps from National Division 2 side, Southend RFC, whom he coached to five promotions in the past eight years. As well as working as Southend's full-time Director of Rugby for the past two seasons, Harman, a former police Detective Constable, has extensive experience coaching youth and Academy players and also the South East U21 side.

He takes over from previous 1XV Team Manager, Nolan Miller, who will be leaving the club this week for pastures new.

Miller said: "Having spent six wonderful years at the club, I feel the time is right to move on and pursue a career elsewhere. London Wasps is a fantastic place to work and I have no doubt the new Team Manager will thoroughly enjoy working in such a successful environment.

"I would like to thank to the London Wasps board, office-staff, players, supporters and my old media friends for some wonderful memories and wish the club all the best for the forthcoming seasons."
