Quins sign Gonzalo Tiesi

Harlequins would like to announce the signing of London Irish outside centre, Gonzalo Tiesi, who will join the club at the end of the season.

The 22 year old Argentinean centre, who has played 12 times for his country, scoring 4 tries, and who was a member of their world Cup team in 2007, joined London Irish on a trial basis and has gone on to make an impressive impact.

Harlequins Director of Rugby, Dean Richards, believes Tiesi will be a valuable member of the squad:

"Gonzalo is a genuine outside centre. He is a great footballer, with a huge amount of pace and skill, and he is an extremely exciting player. I am delighted to have him on board."

Gonzalo Tiesi is looking forward to joining Harlequins:

"I have very much enjoyed my time at London Irish, and feel that I have truly developed as a player. I think that it is time for the next step in my career, and I am excited about the move.

"Harlequins have offered me a real opportunity for a new and fresh challenge, and I am looking forward to working with Dean Richards and his team.
