Ticket sales for the Guinness Premiership Final have passed the 50,000 mark with three weeks still to go to the Final.
The tickets were put on sale far earlier than in recent seasons and the 'Be Part of It' national marketing campaign was created and subsequently nominated for a Sport Industry Award.

Saturday sees the final round of Guinness Premiership matches, with six teams fighting to claim four semi-final places in the most competitive end to a season there has ever been.

In past rounds, the main contenders have produced some world class performances, including London Wasps' first ever win at Welford Road, Bath Rugby's demolition of Saracens and Gloucester Rugby's first win on London Wasps' home patch for 18 years.

Involved in those matches has been a host of talented young English players, aiming to win the league title for their club, but also to claim a place in Martin Johnson's squad to tour New Zealand

Fans coming to the final know they will be guaranteed a world class rugby match, with the opportunity to see some of the brightest young stars in the game.

16,000 tickets have been reserved for the finalists, so with sales progressing at their current level, the match is on target to achieve a 70,000 attendance.

Jon Duckworth, Head of Marketing and Promotions at Premier Rugby said, "Ticket sales are going very well given we don't yet know the finalists.

"It's been the closest and most exciting end to the season we have ever had and that has helped make the Guinness Premiership Final a must-see event. If we can achieve strong sales through the finalist clubs and push on to 70,000, I think that will encourage the 'event junkies' to come along and if the weather stays fine, who knows, we may even get close to our 77,000 capacity for the match."

Tickets for the Guinness Premiership Final, at 3pm on Saturday 31st May are available through Ticketmasterand on the Guinness Premiership website, www.guinnesspremiership.com/final
