Sale Sharks have announce the signings of Hooker Mahonri Schwalger and Utility Back Marika Vakacegu on two year contracts.
Mahonri has been playing for The Scarlets in the Magners League. He has represented Samoa in the last two World Cups and toured Europe with the Pacific Islanders in 2006.

Formerly a member of the Wellington Lions, Mahonri has also played for the Highlanders in Super 12's.

Director of Rugby Kingsley Jones said, " We needed a solid replacement with Sebastien Bruno leaving the club. Mahonri is a similar age to when Bruno joined us and I am sure that he will prove to be an excellent addition to the squad."

CEO James Jennings said, " Mahonri has proven credentials as an international hooker and will strengthen significantly our front row capability. I look forward to seeing him play in a Sale Sharks shirt."

Marika, 27, is a Full Back/Wing/Centre who has played for Cornish Pirates this season.

Back home in Fiji, Marika was a policeman and has been capped six times by Fiji as well as playing International Sevens.
Director of Rugby Kingsley Jones said, " Marika has been one of the best players in National One this season and I am sure he can make the step up to the Premiership with us. He can play in various positions which is a big plus in the modern game."

CEO James Jennings said, " I am delighted that we have been able to sign Marika. He is a very exciting and powerful player who will increase our attacking options, particularly given his ability to play in a number of positions."
