
Ryan made his professional debut for Gloucester in the club's European Challenge Cup quarter-final against Brive in 2005 since when he has played in 85 games and scored 570 points in the Guinness Premiership and European competitons. He has represented England at Under 16, 18, 19 and 21 levels. He was selected for the England Saxons in 2007 and made his debut on 18th May of that year on his 21st Birthday with a performance that won him the 'man of the match' award.
"Sometimes you have to break out of your comfort zone and leave familiar surroundings if you are going to progress your career" said Toby Booth, London Irish Head Coach, when he announced the signing today (12th May). "Ryan has decided he needs a change if he is to develop as a rugby player. The fact that we're one of the market leaders when it comes to developing talented players was a major factor in his decision to join us. We're looking forward to working with him and pushing him as far as he can go."
Commenting on his move to London Irish Ryan Lamb said, "I'm very excited about joining a great club like London Irish and to working with Toby Booth, Mike Catt and the players there.
"I'm sure the way London Irish plays the game will help me to develop my style of play and provide a chance to gain international honours. I'm also looking forward to the change of lifestyle that living in London will involve."
